10kW solar panel system installed on an Australian home roof

How Much Does a 10kW Solar System Cost in Australia?

A 10kW solar system is one of the most popular sizes for Australian households, typically suiting homes that use between 25 and 35 kilowatt hours of electricity per day. In 2026, a fully installed 10kW system generally costs between $8,000 and $14,000 before rebates are applied.

What makes up the price?

Every quote breaks down into four main parts: the solar panels themselves, the inverter that converts DC into usable AC power, the mounting and wiring hardware, and the labour to install and commission the system. Premium panels and hybrid inverters will always push the price up, while larger arrays can reduce the cost per watt.

The cheapest quote is rarely the best value. Compare warranty length, panel efficiency and the installer's accreditation before you decide.

How rebates reduce your cost

The federal Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) scheme currently provides a 30% discount on eligible small-scale installations, and depending on your state you may also qualify for additional incentives such as battery or solar hot water rebates. Our team can confirm exactly which discounts apply to your address before you commit.
